Technical Application Knowledge: From practice, for practice
Imagine an OEM rolling out one luminaire platform across multiple commercial environments – such as warehouses, retail stores, offices and logistics facilities. Instead of engineering separate luminaire variants for each area, the same luminaire hardware can be configured on site using LumenSelect to deliver the required light level.
LumenSelect function the driver is pre‑set via NFC, and in the field the desired light level can be selected by entering the LumenSelect mode (triggered by switching mains power on/off five times in quick succession) and storing the required level.
This enables the end customer to keep one luminaire type as a universal spare and deploy it across different zones simply by selecting a different lumen package – while the OEM benefits from a simplified bill of materials and faster response, supported by the two‑cluster strategy (75 W / 150 W) and stock availability communication (15 0W available, 75 W following). On top, the platform is designed for high conversion efficiency – specified at up to 95% (75 W) and up to 97% (150 W)
Key platform advantages
- Fewer SKUs, easier platform strategy – with two wattages (75 W / 150 W), the concept is positioned to cover the existing 25-150 W range with AC/DC input – supporting SKU reduction at customer side.
- High efficiency – especially where it matters – the platform is specified with efficiency up to 95% (75 W) and up to 97% (150 W) and highlights improved efficiency at partial loads – a key advantage for real-world operating points.
- LumenSelect: one luminaire, multiple lumen packages – the HE platform is promoted with the LumenSelect function – enabling selectable light levels on the same driver platform and supporting flexibility while reducing variants.
- Installation-friendly electrical behavior – the concept highlights low inrush current / high number of MCBs to support larger installations and broad power clustering.
- Modern control & data ready – these drivers are specified as DALI‑2 with DALI parts 251/252/253 (luminaire, energy and diagnostic data) and support NFC programming including box programming.
