In 2023, Inventronics supported the realisation of an ambitious private residential project through close collaboration with our VAR partner, Penn Elcom, helping to bring the vision of the architects and lighting designers to life.

IO House challenges the conventional perception of a family home, reflecting the client’s passion for technology, innovation, and playfulness. The 2,000 sqm new-build residence is discreetly nestled within a North London conservation area. From the street, the house presents as a single-storey dwelling; however, two additional lower levels are cleverly concealed within the landscaped gardens, ensuring privacy and minimal visual impact on neighbouring properties.
Lighting design was delivered by dpa lighting consultants, who worked closely with the client and the wider design team across every aspect of the project. The result is a family home filled with unexpected and expressive lighting features that respond both to the open-plan architecture and the seamless extension of living spaces into courtyards and gardens.

Inventronics’ LINEARlight FLEX product range, including flexible LED strips and aluminium profiles, and suitable OPTOTRONIC OTi DALI LED drivers, was used extensively throughout the interior spaces to deliver both functional and architectural lighting. The solutions were integrated across a wide variety of applications, including ceiling panels, floating ceilings, dressing rooms, wall panels, and shower benches, as well as lighting integrated into the pool handrail and accent lighting highlighting artwork. The flexibility and consistency of the LINEARlight FLEX system enabled seamless integration into bespoke architectural details while maintaining high visual comfort and design precision. Striking elements such as backlit onyx walls and a twinkling green wall introduce moments of surprise and delight. Fully programmable via an app, the lighting allows the family to create personalised scenes, patterns, and dynamic light sequences – perfectly capturing the home’s sense of individuality, creativity, and fun.
